Olivia Lazarus – President

I got my first Beardie and show dog, Doris, in 2004. We also have Luke and Panda from Doris' litter born in December of 2007. My husband Norm, who has previously served on the Board, and I have been involved with Conformation, Sheep Herding, Rally, Tracking, Therapy Dog work, Nosework, and Agility. We also enjoy our Beardies just as pets.

Jill Floberg – Past President

My journey with beardies started in 1987 when Dean and I got our first from Doni LaZar. He was a beautiful brown boy who kind of resembled a teddy bear. We called him Theo. Since that time we have had six beardies, all who stole our hearts and four who have gone on to the Rainbow Bridge.

I have been a member of the BCCA and the RMBCC throughout this time. While we have lived here in the Denver area since 1997 I have held various positions on the Board including 3 years as Board President. In 2008 I submitted to the BCCA Board our bid to host the 2010 National Specialty in Loveland. The bid was accepted and Nancy Shock, me, and a host of great RMBCC members pulled off a very successful specialty.

Fast forward to 2017, I am starting my second year as past president on the Board which means I have been involved for the last 20 years since coming back to Denver.  Much has changed and my current involvement is more with the BCCA. I am starting my last year being on the Board of Directors and I continue to serve on the NSA. (National Specialty Advisor) Time flies by and the biggest joy in my life are my 2 beardie girls, ZiZi and Keagan.

Nancy Shock - Vice President

Nancy attended her first Specialty in 1985 in Olympia, Washington. The next year she got her first Beardie, Katie. Thirty-two years later she still is in love with this wonderful breed. Nancy is a founding member of the RMBCC and has held many offices including president, vice president, secretary, and board member, plus she has been a member of the BCCA for over 30 years.

Nancy was the show chairman of the 2004 BCCA National Specialty and co-show chairman, with Jill Floberg, of the 2010 National. She loves working with the local and national membership to host a National where all have a wonderful time celebrating Beardies. She just has one dog now, Joy, her seventh Beardie, but has lived with as many as four at a time. Nancy believes that the best part of having a Beardie in her life are all the amazing friends she has made throughout the years.

I joined RMBCC in 2015 after adopting a rescue beardie puppy (Linus) from BCCA.  This, I thought, was my first experience with a beardie.  However I realized that a dog I adopted from the Denver Dumb Friends League in 1992 may have been part bearded collie.  That dog died in 2004, and I was in search of one with very similar qualities.  That lead me to a briard, then to a bouvier, but it wasn't until I adopted my puppy Linus that I found what I was looking for!  Linus and I currently enjoy agility, rally, obedience, therapy dog visits, and snuggling on the couch :-)

I joined RMBCC in 2013 after getting our first Beardie puppy, Fergus.  I've enjoyed meeting other Beardie owners, their support and participating in many of the club activities.

Kim Krueger – Director

I moved to Colorado in 1993 for veterinary school at Colorado State University.  I am also certified in animal chiropractic care and rehabilitation and conditioning.  Our family had a beardie when I was younger.  I got my first beardie in 1995 from Lynn Zagarella.  I loved that beardie with all my heart!  I have been competing in agility, obedience and herding since the 1990's.  Mostly we love hiking, biking and camping with the beardies!

I live in Sedalia, Colorado with my husband and two boys.  We are lucky enough to share our home with Tallulah (Artisan Mambo in May CGC RN PT), Frapper (Caramel Risa Frappuccino RA PT OA OAJ), and River (Risa Rocking the River ACT2, HT)
